FLYBE
fly·by also fly-by (flī′bī′) n. pl. fly·bys also fly-bys A flight passing close to a specified target or position, especially a maneuver in which a spacecraft or satellite passes sufficiently close to a body to make detailed observations without orbiting or landing.
Flybe (pronounced /ˈflaɪˌbiː/) styled as flybe, is a British airline based in Exeter, England. Until its sale to Connect Airways (January 2019), it was the largest independent regional airline in Europe.
Definition of flyby. 1 : a prearranged usually low-altitude flight by one or more airplanes over a public gathering (such as an air show) 2a : a flight of a spacecraft past a celestial body (such as Mars) close enough to obtain scientific data. b : a spacecraft that makes a flyby.
By the time Flybe threw in the towel in February 2018, both airlines had lost millions. The carrier is also suffering from Brexit uncertainty, which is damaging consumer and business confidence, and weakening the pound.
